Secondly, the Match.com ‘Make Love Happen Guarantee’ promises that if you don’t find someone you consider special within your first six months as a subscriber, they will give you an additional six months to continue searching, at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE to you. You will not find this kind of guarantee at any other dating site on the web, that we know of. This would indicate that Match.com is extremely confident in their ability to help you find the person you’re looking for. In fact, it borders on cocky! This guarantee, of course, is only extended to members who subscribe for six months.
A base membership is free, and there is a three day FREE TRIAL on a premium membership, which allows you to try all the tools and features without obligation to remain a member. You can create your profile, upload a photo, take a look around and generally get a sense of whether or not this feels like home.
Before you will be allowed to search the database at Match.com, you’ll be asked to fill out a couple of questionnaires, one about you, and one about your ideal match. These questionnaires are mostly multiple choice, and there’s no math or science, so don’t panic. It’s fairly painless.
Then, you’ll be asked to complete a profile. This is the ‘essay’ part of the test. But, again, before you panic, it’s just a couple of paragraphs about yourself and who you’re looking for in a date. Leave out anything about yourself that’s really ‘creepy,’ because all of this still has to be reviewed before you’re allowed to move in with the general population and start your quest.
You can search the Match.com database by just about any combination of criteria you’re able to come up with; gender, age, geography, sexual orientation, ethnicity, keywords, and any characteristics to be found in a member profile.
Match.com offers some extras you won’t find available at other dating sites. They include expert advice from the likes of Dr. Phil McGraw and Style Director Jay Manuel. The ‘Total Attraction Matching System’ combines powerful personality profiling with a physical attraction test unique to the field. You can even have your matches delivered directly to your email box or your mobile phone.
